We are a premium financial services firm, specialising in providing holistic financial advice to High Net Worth (HNW) individuals. Renowned for our tailored solutions and exceptional client outcomes, we are seeking an experience Financial Adviser to join our Sydney CBD office and takeover a portfolio of wholesale clients.
This is a great opportunity to step into an established book, supported by a capable internal team (investment, compliance, paraplanning and admin), allowing you to focus on advice quality, client relationships and growth.
The Role
We are looking for an experience Adviser with strong wholesale/HNW experience to manage a portfolio of approximately 50 clients. You will lead client engagements, deliver strategic advice, oversee implementation, and drive outstanding ongoing service.
Key responsibilities include:
1) Client Relationship Management
Be the primary adviser for ~50 wholesale/HNW clients, providing proactive, responsive, high quality service.
Lead review meetings (in-person and virtual), manage quarterly/periodic touchpoints, and maintain clear follow-through.
Build strong, long-term relationships and act as a trusted strategic partner.
2) Advice Strategy & Delivery
Provide holistic advice across wealth accumulation, retirement, superannuation, pensions, SMSFs, trusts, and tax-aware strategies.
Partner with paraplanners to deliver high-quality SOAs/ROAs, ensuring advice is clear, technically robust and client-specific.
Ensure advice aligns with best interest duty, client objectives, risk profiles and licensee standards.
3) Portfolio Oversight (Wholesale investments)
Oversee portfolios including direct equities, managed funds and platform-based investing.
Manage implementation oversight—trades, cashflow, corporate actions, contributions/withdrawals—ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
Work closely with the investment team on portfolio construction, reporting, and ongoing portfolio strategy.
4) Compliance & Governance (Self-licensed)
Maintain best-practice record keeping, file notes, consents and review cadence.
Ensure client data is current (KYC, risk profiles) and files remain audit-ready.
Operate confidently with strong ownership of compliance outcomes.
5) Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide clear direction to support staff and maintain high standards across client deliverables.
Contribute to process improvements and help uplift adviser/service team capability.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
FASEA qualified with at least 3 years’ experience as a Financial Adviser, with a proven track record of business development.
Wholesale/HNW advisory experience, ideally managing relationships in a boutique or private wealth setting.
Strong technical knowledge across investments, superannuation, retirement planning, SMSFs and trusts.
Confidence leading client meetings and managing complex stakeholder expectations.
Strong systems capability, ideally with Xplan and IPS (Iress Portfolio System) (or similar).
A high attention to detail, strong follow-through and a proactive approach to client service
