Company Profile

Education Development Trust

Company Overview

Education Development Trust provides outstanding, sustainable education solutions. In partnership with schools and governments as well as public and private partners, we transform the lives of millions of learners worldwide.

We deliver education services and consultancy on a global scale as well as manage a portfolio of free schools, academies and independent schools.

As a not-for-profit and a registered charity, any surpluses generated from our work are invested into our publicly available programme of educational research. Our research ensures our practice is evidence-based and supports our commitment to excellence in education.

We have been a leading careers service provider in the UK for over 20 years and have a successful track record of managing programmes delivering careers, employment and skills support. Bridging the gap between education, training and employment is key to our mission of transforming lives around the world.

We work with national and local funders to deliver high quality careers support to young people and adults. In both the management and delivery of our services we combine our extensive professional knowledge and experience with up-to-date technology, helping us not only to engage with customers but also to maximise our impact for them. We adopt a joined-up approach with local stakeholders to develop our work, from linking up with employers, schools and colleges to nurturing key strategic relationships with local authorities, local enterprise partnerships and other partner organisations.

We know how important it is that young people receive expert, informed advice and guidance as they make the critical transition from school to further learning and employment and we know what works in delivering this. Working with local authorities or directly with schools, we not only deliver careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) to young people but also support with work experience placements and careers education activities. We have delivered careers events supporting thousands of young people and their parents to access a wealth of careers information. Partnership working – with schools, young people and parents, training providers, employers, colleges and universities and other stakeholders – is central to the success of all of our programmes.

Founded in 1968, Education Development Trust celebrates over 50 years of transforming lives by improving education around the world this year. Over the half century, the organisation's name has changed along with our people and leadership but what has stayed the same?
