Vantage Technology Consulting Group is seeking candidates for a full-time Structured Cabling / ICT Design Consultant to join our Design and Engineering team. We are looking for an applicant with solid experience and a proven skill set in the following:
Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including Cat 6A and optical fiber design, pathways, and telecommunications room planning
Familiarity with the AEC design process and experience coordinating with architects, engineers, facility IT teams, and other building system designers
Knowledge of related low-voltage technologies, such as audiovisual, security, and healthcare systems
Client-facing consulting and project leadership within an architectural project environment
What You Will Do
As an ICT Infrastructure Consultant at Vantage, you will play a central role in delivering coordinated technology design solutions across a range of areas. You will work closely with our clients, architects, and other team members to prepare design documents, drawing packages, specification documents, cost estimates, and support projects with complex ICT and low-voltage requirements. You will help deliver the high-quality work Vantage is known for, following our processes, standards, and quality expectations.
In particular, you will:
Work within project teams to understand client needs, project goals, client standards, standards, scope, budget, and schedule
Conduct project needs assessments and programming meetings directly with clients
Provide ICT and low voltage design services, including:Structured cabling systems and telecom room layouts
Pathway sizing and coordination with architectural and MEP systems
Support for healthcare low voltage systems such as RTLS, nurse call, DAS, ERRCS, patient engagement, clocks, elapsed timers, and others
Work with our BIM team to develop drawings, details, diagrams, and Bluebeam markups for design packages
Assist with writing specifications and design narratives for your systems
Attend meetings with clients and architects to discuss technical requirements and project progress
Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, models, and construction documents
Support construction administration tasks, including submittal review, RFIs, site observations, and punch walks
Build and maintain client and industry relationships
Continue to develop technical skills, maintain certifications, and mentor junior team members

Requirements
What You Bring to Vantage We’re looking for someone who combines technical skill with curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-directed, and thrives in a remote work environment.
This is a remote work position, but candidates must be located in the Los Angeles or San Diego metro areas.
Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role:
Basic Qualifications
Two to five years of structured cabling or low voltage ICT design experience in healthcare, higher education, or commercial projects
Understanding of the design phases used for construction documents and specifications
Familiarity with BICSI standards and major manufacturer solutions
Ability to perform and document site surveys and construction punch walks for our projects in Southern California and nationally.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Comfortable managing your workload in a remote team environment
Strong collaboration, communication, and time management skills
Interest in growing in the AEC and ICT design fields
Preferred Qualifications
PE, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD or progress toward BICSI certifications
Knowledge of healthcare technology design standards, codes, and best practices
